MealLuma. See the source. Correct it once.
Log the meal without giving up your judgment.
Photo or describe a plate, scan a supported barcode or nutrition label, or search USDA reference foods. Review the portion, source and editable nutrition before it reaches your log. Approve a correction and MealLuma can remember it for an exact repeat.
A nutrition result you can inspect.
Use the quickest route for the food
Choose Photo, Describe, a supported packaged-food barcode, USDA reference search, on-device nutrition-label scanning, or manual entry. One app covers the meal in front of you and the package in your hand.
See where the result came from
MealLuma labels USDA reference matches, Open Food Facts barcode records and model-resolved estimates. When an exact source record is available, open it from the result instead of trusting a mystery number.
Review before anything is saved
Every Photo or Describe estimate starts as a draft. Check the dish, portion and nutrition, edit what the camera could not know, then choose Save or Discard.
Scale the portion without starting over
Ate half, twice as much, or a different gram weight? Scale the reviewed result and MealLuma recalculates its nutrition while keeping the original meal structure visible.
Correct once, remember the repeat
MealLuma can apply an approved correction when the same meal returns. Your version of a repeat meal matters more than a generic guess that resets every time.
Re-log one Usual for free
Your Usuals surface repeat meals from your own accepted logs. Re-log one whenever it returns; Pro adds bulk selection when several familiar meals make up the day.
Free proves the nutrition experience
Free and Pro use the same nutrition pipeline and accuracy. Free includes three combined Photo or Describe analyses a day, every non-AI logging route, editable results and a useful 7-day view.
Private, with no ads or tracking
Nutrition-label OCR runs on-device. MealLuma does not persist images from synchronous Photo analysis, and it does not sell your data or use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
An estimate you can inspect, not just accept.
Chicken biryani
Medium confidenceIllustrative editable estimate. Scale the portion, inspect its resolution source, or correct values before saving.
Tracking, without the lies
You eat a real meal, not a database entry โ and a photo cannot reveal exact volume or every hidden ingredient.
MealLuma starts with the best available route: a pinned reference food, a barcode record, a label you scan, or an AI-resolved estimate.
You see the source and confidence, then adjust the portion or nutrition before accepting the result.
MealLuma can remember that approved correction and surface the meal in Your Usuals when it returns.
You stay in control. MealLuma becomes faster to use.
The same nutrition quality. Pro saves time.
Free and Pro use the same nutrition pipeline and accuracy. Pay only when bulk repeat logging, structured insight and longer comparisons save enough time to be worth it. The app shows your local App Store price and any eligible introductory offer before purchase.

Questions, answered.
How accurate is a photo-based calorie estimate?
A 2D photo cannot measure exact volume or hidden ingredients, so MealLuma shows an editable calorie and macro estimate with a confidence level and resolution source. Adjust the portion or values before saving if the camera could not see the full story.
Does Pro make nutrition estimates more accurate?
No. Free and Pro use the same nutrition pipeline and accuracy. Pro is for saving time: a higher daily AI-analysis allowance, bulk repeat logging, structured weekly intelligence, longer comparisons and an optional protein-first display.
Is MealLuma designed for mixed dishes and global cuisines?
MealLuma can recognise many regional dish names and mixed meals, but coverage varies and every result remains an estimate. Check the identified components, source, portion and nutrition before you save it.
Can I log without taking a photo?
Yes. Describe the meal, scan a supported packaged-food barcode, search USDA reference foods, scan a nutrition label on-device, enter values manually, or re-log an individual Usual.
What is the protein-first display?
It is an optional Pro display preference that puts protein progress before calories. It is not medication guidance or medical advice.
What's free and what's paid?
Free includes the same nutrition pipeline as Pro, three combined Photo or Describe analyses per day, Barcode, USDA reference search, on-device label scanning, editable source-linked results, portion scaling, remembered corrections, favorites, individual Usual re-logging and a 7-day summary. Pro adds up to 150 combined Photo or Describe analyses per day, Smart Usuals bulk re-logging for 2โ10 meals, structured weekly intelligence, 30- and 90-day comparisons, and the optional protein-first display. US reference pricing is $9.99/month or $59.99/year; StoreKit shows your local price and any introductory-offer eligibility before purchase.
What happens to my meal photos?
A synchronous Photo analysis sends the image and any optional dish hint to OpenAI over an encrypted connection, but MealLuma does not persist the image in its storage. Requests use store:false. OpenAI states that API data is not used to train models by default, although abuse-monitoring logs may be retained for up to 30 days. MealLuma sends no profile, account, correction or protein-preference state with the request. See our Privacy Policy.
