Kidney Lens Terms & EULA
Last updated: 7 July 2026
1. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Kidney Lens on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with these Terms and Apple's App Store terms. Your use of Kidney Lens is also governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). By downloading or using Kidney Lens you accept these Terms and that EULA.
2. Subscriptions
- Kidney Lens Pro is an auto-renewable subscription offered through Apple In-App Purchase, at $9.99 per month or $59.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial on the annual plan. Prices, trial availability, renewal, cancellation, billing retry, grace period, refund, and revocation are managed by Apple and shown in the App Store purchase sheet, which governs if it differs from this page. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of the free trial unless you cancel before it ends.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Cancel anytime in Settings β your name β Subscriptions on your device β you keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store policies.
- The free tier includes one signed-in photo scan a day with honest bands, unlimited manual and barcode logging, ingredient-panel PHOS evidence and phosphorus withholding, day rings against your own targets with todayβs breakdown, fluid, binder and medication logs, 7-day history, the cited education library, and a watermarked 7-day clinician report. Pro raises signed-in photo scanning to 10 a day and adds saved meal comparison and re-logging, full 7/30/90-day trends, and the full-range, un-watermarked clinician report. Use Restore Purchases in the app to restore an existing subscription.
3. Health information and estimates
Kidney Lens records the information you enter; it does not verify it. You are responsible for the information you enter and for confirming any scanned estimates before saving them. Scan results are estimates rendered as ranges with a stated basis β they are not measurements. Nutrient values come from a public government nutrient database and can differ from the specific food you ate; portion estimates from a photo are approximate by nature; and where Kidney Lens withholds a value (for example, likely additive phosphorus), that withholding is itself an estimate of uncertainty, not a guarantee the nutrient is absent. Educational material in Kidney Lens is general and cited, not personal advice. A logged number, a ring, a flag, or a report must never substitute for your own care plan and professional medical guidance.
4. Cloud features and AI
- The photo scan and subscription features require a network connection and depend on the disclosed third-party photo processor, Apple, and service availability. They may be temporarily unavailable for reasons outside our control.
- The photo scan runs only after your separate, explicit consent in the app; you can withdraw it at any time, which blocks future requests across your signed-in devices until you explicitly allow a new scan. See the Privacy Policy for what the current processor receives.
- Photo scanning is metered: the free tier includes one scan per day and Kidney Lens Pro includes 10 per day. We may refuse or limit requests that are abusive, automated, outside the app's scope, or not covered by consent.
5. Your content and data
You own the information you put into Kidney Lens β your logs, targets, entries and corrections. Kidney Lens is local-first; you grant us the limited rights needed to process a photo you choose to scan. The current version does not store scan-correction records on our servers or use them to personalise later photo scans. Your meal photos are used only in memory for scanning and are never stored on our servers. We do not sell your content or your health information. See the Privacy Policy.
6. Acceptable use
- Kidney Lens is for your personal health records. You must be an adult to create an account.
- Don't misuse the service β no automated or bulk use, and no uploading content unrelated to your own tracking.
- Don't attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the app, its systems, or another person's data.
7. Termination
You can stop using Kidney Lens and delete your account and data at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or misuse the service.
8. Disclaimers
Kidney Lens is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, and do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any reminder or notification will be delivered or timely, or that any estimate β a nutrient range, a portion, a day total, a flag, or a report β will be accurate or complete. You are responsible for maintaining your own care arrangements independent of the app.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hale Hearth will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, Kidney Lens β including any loss arising from diet, fluid, medication, or data-entry decisions made outside the app, from a missed or delayed reminder, from inaccurate or withheld estimates, or from third-party service availability. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer law, including the Australian Consumer Law, that cannot be excluded.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
